Faith’s Three Different Levels:
Faith is the cornerstone of the Christian life, yet it manifests in varying depths.
The Bible reveals three progressive levels of faith, each marking a step closer to mature trust in God.
As Hebrews 11:1 (TLB) declares, “What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it.” This assurance grows stronger as we move beyond sight and feelings into unwavering obedience to God’s Word.
Level One: Faith Dependent on Signs or Emotions
At the first level, belief thrives only when visible evidence or strong feelings confirm it. Thomas exemplified this when he said, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands—and put my fingers into them—and place my hand into his side” (John 20:25, TLB). Many believers today operate here, needing emotional highs from worship, answered prayers, or miracles before they trust. While God often grants signs in His mercy (as with Gideon’s fleece in Judges 6), this level remains immature. It is shallow because it rests on the changeable—senses and emotions—rather than the unchanging character of God. When the signs fade, so does the faith.
Level Two: Faith Without Feelings
The second level advances to believing even when emotions are absent. Here, trust persists in the quiet, ordinary seasons of life. This is the “dry faith” of many faithful saints who continue in prayer, obedience, and service without emotional fireworks. It echoes the psalmist’s resolve: “My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever” (Psalm 73:26, TLB). This level builds endurance, teaching us that God’s presence does not depend on our feelings. It is more stable than Level One, yet still vulnerable if circumstances turn hostile.
Level Three: Faith Against All Contradictions
The highest level is believing God’s Word when everything—circumstances, emotions, appearances, people, and human reason—screams the opposite. Abraham reached this pinnacle: “When God promised Abraham that he would become the father of many nations, Abraham believed God even though such a promise just couldn’t come to pass!” (Romans 4:18, TLB, paraphrased context). Job, too, declared, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him” (Job 13:15). This is the faith that pleases God most (Hebrews 11:6), because it rests solely on His unchanging promises amid trials, opposition, and apparent defeat. It is the faith of the Cross—where Jesus trusted the Father’s plan despite abandonment and suffering.
Dear believer, the Lord calls us to this third level. At 85 years young, as a Vietnam veteran who has seen both triumph and trial, you know that true faith stands firm when all else fails. Let us press on, anchored in God’s Word, for “the just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17, TLB). In this highest faith, we find victory, peace, and the power to glorify Christ no matter what!

A good way to learn to Praise God is to memorize the first 6 Verses of Psalms 148:
1 Praise the Lord, O heavens! Praise Him from the skies!
2 Praise Him, all His angels, all the armies of heaven.
3 Praise Him, sun and moon and all you twinkling stars.
4 Praise Him, skies above. Praise Him, vapors high above the clouds.
5 Let everything He has made give praise to Him. For He issued His command, and they came into being;
6 He established them forever and forever. His orders will never be revoked.
PLEASE read the last 6 Chapters of Psalms: 145-150 so that you will learn how to Praise God like David did!

JESUS WAS THE SOLUTION BEFORE YOU HAD A SIN PROBLEM,
NEVER GET OVER WHAT JESUS HAS DONE FOR YOU!
NOW:
THE PURPOSE OF THE CHURCH:
TO TEACH US TO LEAD OTHERS TO CHRIST!

22 A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,

but the simple go on and suffer for it.
4 The reward for humility and fear of the Lord

5 Thorns and snares are in the way of the crooked;
whoever guards his soul will keep far from them.
6 Train up a child in the way he should go;
even when he is old he will not depart from it.
7 The rich rules over the poor,
and the borrower is the slave of the lender.
8 Whoever sows injustice will reap calamity,
and the rod of his fury will fail.
9 Whoever has a bountiful[b] eye will be blessed,
for he shares his bread with the poor.
10 Drive out a scoffer, and strife will go out,
and quarreling and abuse will cease.
11 He who loves purity of heart,
and whose speech is gracious, will have the king as his friend.
12 The eyes of the Lord keep watch over knowledge,
but he overthrows the words of the traitor.
13 The sluggard says, “There is a lion outside!
I shall be killed in the streets!”
14 The mouth of forbidden[c] women is a deep pit;
he with whom the Lord is angry will fall into it.
15 Folly is bound up in the heart of a child,
but the rod of discipline drives it far from him.
16 Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth,
or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty.
Words of the Wise
17 Incline your ear, and hear the words of the wise,
and apply your heart to my knowledge,
18 for it will be pleasant if you keep them within you,
if all of them are ready on your lips.
19 That your trust may be in the Lord,
I have made them known to you today, even to you.
20 Have I not written for you thirty sayings
of counsel and knowledge,
21 to make you know what is right and true,
that you may give a true answer to those who sent you?
22 Do not rob the poor, because he is poor,
or crush the afflicted at the gate,
23 for the Lord will plead their cause
and rob of life those who rob them.
24 Make no friendship with a man given to anger,
nor go with a wrathful man,
25 lest you learn his ways
and entangle yourself in a snare.
26 Be not one of those who give pledges,
who put up security for debts.
27 If you have nothing with which to pay,
why should your bed be taken from under you?
28 Do not move the ancient landmark
that your fathers have set.
29 Do you see a man skillful in his work?
He will stand before kings;
he will not stand before obscure men.

who walk in their uprightness.

offspring of the adulterer and the loose woman.
4 Whom are you mocking?
Against whom do you open your mouth wide
and stick out your tongue?
Are you not children of transgression,

so that you lied,
and did not remember me,
did not lay it to heart?
Have I not held my peace, even for a long time,
and you do not fear me?
12 I will declare your righteousness and your deeds,
but they will not profit you.
13 When you cry out, let your collection of idols deliver you!
The wind will carry them all off,
a breath will take them away.
But he who takes refuge in me shall possess the land
and shall inherit my holy mountain.
Comfort for the Contrite
14 And it shall be said,
“Build up, build up, prepare the way,
remove every obstruction from my people’s way.”
15 For thus says the One who is high and lifted up,
who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“I dwell in the high and holy place,
and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly,
and to revive the heart of the contrite.
16 For I will not contend forever,
nor will I always be angry;
for the spirit would grow faint before me,
and the breath of life that I made.
17 Because of the iniquity of his unjust gain I was angry,
I struck him; I hid my face and was angry,
but he went on backsliding in the way of his own heart.
18 I have seen his ways, but I will heal him;
I will lead him and restore comfort to him and his mourners,
19 creating the fruit of the lips.
Peace, peace, to the far and to the near,” says the Lord,
“and I will heal him.
20 But the wicked are like the tossing sea;
for it cannot be quiet,
and its waters toss up mire and dirt.
21 There is no peace,” says my God, “for the wicked.”

Revelation 08

8 When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2 Then I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. 3 And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer, and he was given much incense to offer with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne, 4 and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel. 5 Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth, and there were peals of thunder, rumblings,[a] flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.
The Seven Trumpets
6 Now the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared to blow them.
7 The first angel blew his trumpet, and there followed hail and fire, mixed with blood, and these were thrown upon the earth. And a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.
8 The second angel blew his trumpet, and something like a great mountain, burning with fire, was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. 9 A third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
10 The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star is Wormwood.[b] A third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the water, because it had been made bitter.
12 The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of their light might be darkened, and a third of the day might be kept from shining, and likewise a third of the night.
13 Then I looked, and I heard an eagle crying with a loud voice as it flew directly overhead, “Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth, at the blasts of the other trumpets that the three angels are about to blow!”
