God is Love:

Wherever the Wind Blows; Whichever Way the Wind May Blow!

“God is Love” (1 John 4:8 TLB).

This profound declaration stands at the heart of the Christian faith. The Apostle John, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, reveals that love is not merely something God does—it is who He is.

His very essence is perfect, unconditional,

sacrificial love. And just as the wind moves freely, unpredictably, and powerfully, so does the love of God. “Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it will go next, so it is with the Spirit” (John 3:8 TLB).

The wind is invisible yet unmistakable. You hear its rustle in the leaves, feel its caress on your face, or stand in awe of its mighty force. You cannot control or fully predict it. In the same way, the Holy Spirit—the very breath and presence of our loving God—moves according to divine wisdom.

He blows into our lives in unexpected seasons: In the quiet whisper during prayer, the rushing wind of revival, or the gentle breeze of comfort in grief.

Whether in the calm of peaceful days or the storms of trial, God’s love pursues us.

For the Vietnam veteran who has faced the turbulence of war, or the real estate warrior navigating economic headwinds, this truth brings profound peace.

God’s love is not confined to favorable conditions. It follows us “wherever the wind blows.” In seasons of loss, uncertainty, or even personal failure, His Spirit moves to redeem, restore, and renew. Romans 5:5 reminds us that “God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit” (TLB). This love is active—it transforms hearts, mends broken relationships, empowers forgiveness, and equips us to love others as He has loved us.

Consider the Cross. There, the wind of divine love blew strongest. Jesus, moved by love for a lost world, endured the storm of wrath so we could receive the gentle breeze of grace.

No matter which way the winds of life may blow—political unrest, health challenges, financial pressures, or spiritual dryness—God’s love remains constant. It adapts, comforts, corrects, and leads.

Beloved, open your heart today. Let the wind of the Spirit fill you afresh. Walk in this love, share it boldly in your daily bread, your marketplace dealings, and the veteran community. For where the Spirit blows, lives are changed, hope is reborn, and the sovereign King demonstrates that God is Love —- Everywhere! Always!

42 Behold my servant, whom I uphold,
    my chosen, in whom my soul delights;
I have put my Spirit upon him;
    he will bring forth justice to the nations.
²He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice,
    or make it heard in the street;
³a bruised reed he will not break,
    and a faintly burning wick he will not quench;
    he will faithfully bring forth justice.
⁴He will not grow faint or be discouraged^[a]
    till he has established justice in the earth;
    and the coastlands wait for his law.

⁵Thus says God, the Lord,
    who created the heavens and stretched them out,
    who spread out the earth and what comes from it,
who gives breath to the people on it

Sing to the Lord a New Song

¹⁰Sing to the Lord a new song,
    his praise from the end of the earth,
you who go down to the sea, and all that fills it,
    the coastlands and their inhabitants.
¹¹Let the desert and its cities lift up their voice,
    the villages that Kedar inhabits;
let the habitants of Sela sing for joy,
    let them shout from the top of the mountains.
¹²Let them give glory to the Lord,
    and declare his praise in the coastlands.
¹³The Lord goes out like a mighty man,
    like a man of war he stirs up his zeal;
he cries out, he shouts aloud,

Israel’s Failure to Hear and See

¹⁸Hear, you deaf,
    and look, you blind, that you may see!
¹⁹Who is blind but my servant,
    or deaf as my messenger whom I send?
Who is blind as my dedicated one,^[d]
    or blind as the servant of the Lord?
²⁰He sees many things, but does not observe them;
    his ears are open, but he does not hear.
²¹The Lord was pleased, for his righteousness’ sake,
    to magnify his law and make it glorious.
²²But this is a people plundered and looted;
    they are all of them trapped in holes
    and hidden in prisons;
they have become plunder with none to rescue,
    spoil with none to say, “Restore!”
²³Who among you will give ear to this,
    will attend and listen for the time to come?
²⁴Who gave up Jacob to the looter,
    and Israel to the plunderers?
Was it not the Lord, against whom we have sinned,
    in whose ways they would not walk,
    and whose law they would not obey?

Revelation 15

15 Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and amazing, seven angels with seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is finished.

²And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire—and also those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands. ³And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,

“Great and amazing are your deeds,
    O Lord God the Almighty!
Just and true are your ways,
    O King of the nations!^[a]
⁴Who will not fear, O Lord,
    and glorify your name?
For you alone are holy.
    All nations will come
    and worship you,
for your righteous acts have been revealed.”

⁵After this I looked, and the sanctuary of the tent^[b] of witness in heaven was opened, ⁶and out of the sanctuary came the seven angels with the seven plagues, clothed in pure, bright linen, with golden sashes around their chests. ⁷And one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who lives forever and ever, ⁸and the sanctuary was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from his power, and no one could enter the sanctuary until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.
