Where in the Bible did Jesus and the New Testament say that He was the GREAT I am?
In the Old Testament, God revealed His covenant name to Moses at the burning bush as “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14 TLB).
This sacred self-designation, often rendered “the Great I Am,” signifies eternal, self-existent deity.
The New Testament, particularly in The Living Bible (TLB) paraphrase, records Jesus of Nazareth explicitly claiming this divine identity, affirming His pre-existence and oneness with the Father.
While TLB renders these statements in contemporary English rather than literal Greek (“ego eimi”), the theological force remains unmistakable: Jesus declares Himself to be Yahweh incarnate.
The clearest assertion occurs in John 8. Amid heated debate with Jewish leaders over His origins, Jesus states, “The absolute truth is that I was in existence before Abraham was ever born!” (John 8:58 TLB).
The crowd immediately attempts to stone Him—an act reserved for blasphemy—demonstrating they understood this as a direct claim to the divine name.
Earlier in the same chapter, Jesus warns, “unless you believe that I am the Messiah, the Son of God, you will die in your sins” (John 8:24 TLB), and later, “When you have killed the Messiah, then you will realize that I am He” (John 8:28 TLB).
These declarations echo the absolute “I am” of Exodus, linking Jesus’ eternal existence to God’s unchanging being.
Jesus reinforces this identity through six memorable “I am” statements in John’s Gospel. He proclaims,:
“I am the Bread of Life” (John 6:35, 48 TLB),
“I am the Light of the world” (John 8:12 TLB),
“I am the Good Shepherd” (John 10:11 TLB),
“I am the one who raises the dead and gives them life again” (John 11:25 TLB),
“I am the Way—yes, and the Truth and the Life” (John 14:6 TLB), and
“I am the true Vine” (John 15:1 TLB).
Each metaphor reveals how the eternal “I Am” sustains, guides, protects, and unites believers with God.
Additional New Testament testimony appears in Mark 14:62 TLB, where Jesus tells the high priest,
“I am, and you will see Me sitting at the right hand of God.”
John’s prologue further declares, “Before anything else existed, there was Christ… He has always been alive and is Himself God” (John 1:1-2 TLB).
These passages collectively portray Jesus not as a created being but as the eternal “Great I Am” who entered history to offer salvation.
The TLB’s accessible phrasing clarifies for modern readers what first-century listeners grasped instantly: Jesus’ “I am” claims constitute the ultimate revelation of God’s name in human flesh. This Christological assertion forms the heart of New Testament faith—belief in the Great “I Am” who was, and is, and is to come. Amen!

You may be telling yourself right now:
I WANT A NEW LIFE;
I WANT TO KNOW MY SIN IS FORGIVEN;
I WANT TO KNOW THAT I HAVE ETERNAL LIFE;
I WANT TO RECEIVE HIM NOW;
I WANT TO RECOMMIT MY LIFE TO CHRIST;
I WANT TO SETTLE THIS THING;
I WANT CHRIST TONIGHT:
Please read the following to settle all of this:
HOW TO GET TO HEAVEN WHEN YOU DIE:
How to be “Born Again”
John 3:16 makes it pretty clear: You have to Believe on Jesus Christ and you will be saved! No matter who you are! No matter what you have done wrong in your life, KNOW THAT GOD, JESUS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT LOVES YOU!
To “Believe” upon Jesus means that:
**********************************************************************
1.) You Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died on the Cross at Calvary as payment for ALL of your sins, was buried in a borrowed tomb and Arose from the dead on the 3rd Day we call Easter and accept Him as your Personal Savior by Faith;
**********************************************************************
2. You Repent of your sinful ways (Breaking God’s Laws in the 10 Commandments:
a.) Worship only God,
b.) Have no other gods before Him,
c.) Don’t use His Name in vain,
d.) Remember the Sabbath and keep it Holy,
e.) Honor your Parents,
f.) Don’t kill anyone,
g.) Don’t commit adultery,
h.) Don’t Steal,
i.) Don’t lie about other people or yourself &
j.) Don’t Covet anything that is your neighbors) and try to stop sinning;
*********************************************************************
3.) You give complete control of your life to Jesus Christ!
Doing these 3 things, you will be “Born Again” Spiritually and the Holy Spirit will enter your Soul, SEAL your position PERMANENTLY in Heaven and WRITE YOUR NAME IN THE “LAMB’S BOOK OF LIFE!” Again: See Revelation Chapter 20 Verse 15 to see why that is CRITICALLY important:
“Revelation 20:15 – And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire”

Let us Praise Him Daily!
A good way to learn to Praise God is to memorize the first 6 Verses of Psalms 148:
1 Praise the Lord, O heavens! Praise Him from the skies!
2 Praise Him, all His angels, all the armies of heaven.
3 Praise Him, sun and moon and all you twinkling stars.
4 Praise Him, skies above. Praise Him, vapors high above the clouds.
5 Let everything He has made give praise to Him. For He issued His command, and they came into being;
6 He established them forever and forever. His orders will never be revoked.
PLEASE read the last 6 Chapters of Psalms: 145-150 so that you will learn how to Praise God like David did!
If you don’t want to get your Bible, Here they all are, just click on each Chapter and I will read them to you:

Chapter 19 in Proverbs for today: (APR 19 (MT) (ESV)
19 Better the poor whose walk is blameless
than a fool whose lips are perverse.
2 Desire without knowledge is not good—
how much more will hasty feet miss the way!
3 A person’s own folly leads to their ruin,
yet their heart rages against the Lord.
4 Wealth attracts many friends,
but even the closest friend of the poor person deserts them.
5 A false witness will not go unpunished,
and whoever pours out lies will not go free.
6 Many curry favor with a ruler,
and everyone is the friend of one who gives gifts.
7 The poor are shunned by all their relatives—
how much more do their friends avoid them!
Though the poor pursue them with pleading,
they are nowhere to be found.[a]
8 The one who gets wisdom loves life;
the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper.
9 A false witness will not go unpunished,
and whoever pours out lies will perish.
10 It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury—
how much worse for a slave to rule over princes!
11 A person’s wisdom yields patience;
it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense.
12 A king’s rage is like the roar of a lion,
but his favor is like dew on the grass.
13 A foolish child is a father’s ruin,
and a quarrelsome wife is like
the constant dripping of a leaky roof.
14 Houses and wealth are inherited from parents,
but a prudent wife is from the Lord.
15 Laziness brings on deep sleep,
and the shiftless go hungry.
16 Whoever keeps commandments keeps their life,
but whoever shows contempt for their ways will die.
17 Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord,
and he will reward them for what they have done.
18 Discipline your children, for in that there is hope;
do not be a willing party to their death.
19 A hot-tempered person must pay the penalty;
rescue them, and you will have to do it again.
20 Listen to advice and accept discipline,
and at the end you will be counted among the wise.
21 Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
22 What a person desires is unfailing love[b];
better to be poor than a liar.
23 The fear of the Lord leads to life;
then one rests content, untouched by trouble.
24 A sluggard buries his hand in the dish;
he will not even bring it back to his mouth!
25 Flog a mocker, and the simple will learn prudence;
rebuke the discerning, and they will gain knowledge.
26 Whoever robs their father and drives out their mother
is a child who brings shame and disgrace.
27 Stop listening to instruction, my son,
and you will stray from the words of knowledge.
28 A corrupt witness mocks at justice,
and the mouth of the wicked gulps down evil.
29 Penalties are prepared for mockers,
and beatings for the backs of fools.

CHAPTER 137 IN PSALMS for today: (APR 19 (TLZ) (ESV)
137 By the waters of Babylon,
there we sat down and wept,
when we remembered Zion.
2 On the willows[a] there
we hung up our lyres.
3 For there our captors
required of us songs,
and our tormentors, mirth, saying,
“Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”
4 How shall we sing the Lord‘s song
in a foreign land?
5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem,
let my right hand forget its skill!
6 Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth,
if I do not remember you,
if I do not set Jerusalem
above my highest joy!
7 Remember, O Lord, against the Edomites
the day of Jerusalem,
how they said, “Lay it bare, lay it bare,
down to its foundations!”
8 O daughter of Babylon, doomed to be destroyed,
blessed shall he be who repays you
with what you have done to us!
9 Blessed shall he be who takes your little ones
and dashes them against the rock!

Revelation 04 for today: (APR 19 (NN) ESV)
4 After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” 2 At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne. 3 And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald. 4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments, with golden crowns on their heads. 5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings[a] and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God, 6 and before the throne there was as it were a sea of glass, like crystal.
And around the throne, on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind: 7 the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight. 8 And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say,
“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty,
who was and is and is to come!”
9 And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11 “Worthy are you, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they existed and were created.”

Please Remember:
“CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS
AND ROSE FROM THE DEAD!”
The Steps to Salvation:
> Repent: Repentance means that you are turning away from sin to turn to Christ. It does NOT mean that you will be perfect.
> Believe/Receive: Salvation is through Faith in Jesus and by the Grace of God. Believing means putting your Faith in Jesus and receiving forgiveness of sin.
>Walk in the Newness of Life: Jesus died so that we might live. We walk in the Newness of Life being Born Again by His Blood.
