There is a limit to affliction. God sends it, and removes it. Do you sigh and say, “When will the end be?” Let us quietly wait and patiently endure the will of the Lord till He cometh. Our Father takes away the rod when His designin using it is fully served.
If the affliction is sent for testing us, that our graces may glorify God, it will end when the Lord has made us bear witness to His praise.
We would not wish the affliction to depart until God has gotten out of us all the honor which we can possibly yield Him. There may be today ” a great calm.” Who knows how soon those raging billows will give place to a sea of glass and the sea birds sit on the gentle waves?
After long tribulation, the flail is hung up, and the wheat rests in the garner. We may, before many hours are past, be just as happy as now we are sorrowful.
It is not hard for the Lord to turn night into day. He that sends the clouds can as easily clear the skies. Let us be of good cheer. It is better farther on. Let us sing Hallelujah by anticipation.

Be patient, O sufferer! The result will more than compensate for all our trials, when we see how they wrought out the far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. To have one word of God’s commendation; to be honored before the holy angels; to be glorified in Christ, so as to be better able to flash His glory on Himself-ah! that will more than repay for all.

Why I Believe in the Return of Christ
God continues to bless Sagemont Church. In the last two Sundays, over 100 people have made public decisions to make Jesus Christ Lord of their life. Pastors Chuck Schneider, Stuart Rothberg, and Jim Hastings have been teaching the scriptures as both the Old and New Testaments prophesy and proclaim that Jesus Christ is coming back to this earth again to claim and receive His children unto Himself. During the worship services, I am preaching the message and promise of the return of Christ.
One may ask, “Pastor, why do you passionately believe that Jesus is literally going to return to the earth?” These are a few reasons:
Why I Believe in the Return of Christ
- Jesus said He would! John 14:3 “I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
- The entire Christian view of history demands it.
- The prophetic signs found in scripture are now clearly being fulfilled.
- Earthquakes all over the globe. Matthew 24:7 – (over 20,000 since 1971)
- Hearts will fail for fear. Luke 21:26 – Suicides are epidemic.
- Great explosions of learning. II Timothy 3:7 – People cannot discern the truth.
- Immorality abounds. Luke 17:26-27 – Like the days of Noah.
Scripture clearly teaches that Jesus will come to save His children and judge the rest.

Guarded by His Power—Jesus Sees You
“And when evening was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and He alone on the land. And He saw them toiling in rowing … and … He cometh unto them, walking upon the sea …” – Mark 6:47
Jesus’ disciples were way out in the sea, and Jesus was on the shore. But He saw them toiling and rowing. He never took His eyes off them.
Are you in the midst of a storm? Did you know He sees you right now? You say, “He doesn’t know where I am. He doesn’t know this difficulty. Why is He so far away? Why am I in the storm and He is on the shore?” Friend, He is there, and He’s praying for you. He’s up there on the mountain looking down. He sees right through the dark. You can’t see Him, but He sees you. You can say, “His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.”
My advice for you in the midst of your storm is to see Jesus, the great I AM, and see Him walking on the water. And that thing that looks like it’s going to be over your head is already under His feet. You’re seated in the heavenlies with Him. And you can’t drown with your head above water. He is the great I AM. You can put it down: you are guarded by His power.
